Fabio Capello: Wayne Rooney And Jermain Defoe Are Fantastic Players
Coach happy with first Euro 2012 win.
By Alex Fisher
England manager Fabio Capello was pleased with England’s 4-0 victory over Bulgaria at Wembley and was full of praise for his players.
“We were really focused on the game," he told ITV Sport.
“I’m really happy. The players did what I asked them to, pressing [the ball] and winning the ball back quickly.”
And Capello was also quick to highlight the performances of Wayne Rooney and Jermain Defoe who, between them, were involved in all of England’s goals.
“Rooney and Defoe are fantastic players,” he continued.
“Four assists from Rooney and three goals from Defoe, they are fast, were good in every moment. Their movement with and without ball was excellent. I am happy with the two forwards but also the other players.
