Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Wilson Palacios has revealed that he would like to use the club as a springboard to launch himself into joining Real Madrid.

The Honduras international arrived at White Hart Lane from Wigan Athletic in January last year, after a fee of £12 million had been agreed between the two clubs.

"I am really happy at Tottenham but I will continue working for a future move to a bigger club," Palacios told The Sun.

"I would like to play for Real Madrid."

The 25-year-old has been doing well in north London this season, having made 28 appearances, scoring one goal and assisting in another. He also put in a stand-out performance during Saturday's goalless draw in the FA Cup quarter-final against Fulham.

He concluded: "Today, many people respect me in England. That's because of my hard-working attitude."

Palacios is currently No.433 overall in the Castrol Rankings, the seventh highest ranked Spurs player.
