Report: Newcastle United Striker Andy Carroll Charged With Assault

Newcastle United forward Andy Carroll is alleged to have been involved in a nightclub altercation and has been charged with an assault, according to a report on the BBC.

The incident occured at 'Blu Bamboo' in Newcastle on December 7, 2009, where a man was taken to hospital and treated for minor head injuries.

Carroll is due to appear before Newcastle Magistrates on February 25.

The striker has been in good form for the Tyneside club returning eight goals; scoring twice against Cardiff City on Friday evening.
