Ancelotti: John Terry Will Remain As Chelsea Captain
Italian "honoured and proud" to have JT as his skipper.
By Adithya Ananth
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has declared that John Terry will not be stripped of his captaincy following a media storm involving the defender.
The 29-year-old has graced the gossip columns all over the UK due to an alleged extramarital affair with Vanessa Perroncel, who is the ex-partner of Terry's former team-mate and friend Wayne Bridge.
With Manchester City players using their shirts to pledge support to Bridge, Ancelotti has stepped up to assure the skipper that his status at the club remains in a state of equilibrium.
"I'm honoured and proud to manage him," Ancelotti said.
"John has his private life and he has to control his private life.
"I have to control my team. He is a player in my team. He is the captain of this team and I am honoured and very proud to manage John Terry.
"He's the captain and he will be the captain. The players have never lost trust in him.
"I think not only the players, but the management and everyone at the club support him and his family."
