Gary Neville And Tevez Warned By Football Association After League Cup Derby Antics
Feuding pair avoid immediate punishment.
The Football Association has handed official warnings to both Gary Neville and Carlos Tevez after both players antics during the first leg of the League Cup semi final between Manchester City and Manchester United.
Neville instigated a running argument with Tevez when he claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson was right to sell the Argentine.
Tevez, now with Manchester City, responded by scoring a brace against United, telling Neville to “shut it” during his goal celebration.
The two have continued to exchange words through various media outlets, including Tevez calling Neville a “boot-licker” and a “moron” after the United defender apparently made an obscene gesture during Tuesday's match.
With the upcoming League Cup clash on Wednesday, the FA has stated any continuation of the bickering will lead to stern action, involving a more thorough retroactive investigation into the previous events.
As the bad blood continues to boil between the players, the FA has also been in contact with the Greater Manchester Police force, to dissuade any possible fan violence.
