Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is reportedly ready to reject a return move to England in favour of a transfer to Turkish side Galatasaray.
The former Manchester United goal ace has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League with both Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and even Stoke City believed to be interested in signing the Dutchman.
However, that scenario now looks unlikely with the Sunday Mirror reporting that the 33-year-old has admitted he is mulling over a move to Turkey to link up with compatriot Frank Rijkaard.
““Frank [Rijkaard] called me and asked ‘do you want to come to Turkey?’” explained the striker.
“I have to think about it because Galatasaray is a great club with a positive approach.”
The report claims the Turks are willing to offer Real £4 million for their forward who they will sign on a two-and-a-half-year deal worth £8m.
Van Nistelrooy has previously admitted he wants to leave the Bernabeu in order to increase his chances of making it to this summer’s World Cup in South Africa.
