Neville Hails Donovan’s Impact At Everton
The English captain was impressed by his new teammate’s performances at the weekend.
Everton skipper Phil Neville has expressed his appreciation of the effort put in by his new teammate, on-loan forward Landon Donovan since joining the Merseyside club last week.
“I thought he fitted in superbly and he has done all week,” said Neville to the Liverpool Daily Post. “Tim Howard had told us all about him and he had played against us in pre-season so we knew what to expect.
“He has come in on the right hand side and that is the position he wants to play. The way he plays it suits the team perfectly.
Donovan made his debut with the club on Saturday against Arsenal and was given a shock start after only being in England for a few days. Despite this, Neville was pleased with what he saw from the 27-year-old American.
“He had good energy and good creativity,” said Neville. “He has enjoyed it at Everton this week and we have enjoyed playing with him.”
