CHELSEA

Petr Cech - 4.5 - The keeper will consider himself unlucky to concede three, especially as one will go down as an own goal, but questions will surround his positioning for both that opener and Saha's fortuitous strike.

Ashley Cole - 5.5 - Roamed forward as has become expected from the England man, but was often caught out at the back in a less than stellar performance.

John Terry
- 6 - Not the best day at the office for the club captain. Was beaten in the air for the first goal, and will be particularly worried as some of his side's set-piece frailties seemed to reappear.

Ricardo Carvalho
- 5.5 - Will be disappointed at the the manner and method of the goals conceded. His distributions moving forward was good, but his primary role is defensive and in that respect he was poor.

Branislav Ivanovic - 6.5 - Fairly solid defensively, and provided the cross for Drogba's second — indicating his value going forward.  Relatively blameless for the side's defensive issues.

John Obi Mikel - 6.5 - Decent performance for the Nigerian after the midweek horror show. Didn't pose much of an attacking threat himself, but his distribution was incisive and accurate.

Michael Ballack - 6 - Came close with one free kick, which was perhaps the German's most notable moment of the match. A mediocre performance. Agonizingly close to late winner.

Frank Lampard - 6 - Gave away the free kick that resulted in the first goal with a silly foul. Attempted to make up for that as he drove his side forward, but couldn't make the breakthrough.

Joe Cole
- 6.5 - Looked lively throughout as he attempted to unlock the Toffees' defense, with mixed results. Perhaps cannot have too many complaints that Ancelotti chose to replace him as the home side chased three points.

Nicolas Anelka
- 7 - Classy finish for his goal, showed great composure in front of goal. Was usual creative influence around the opposition box, but unfortunately not everything he tried came off.

Didier Drogba - 8 - Another talismanic performance from the No.11. Showed beautiful technique to get his side's early equalizer, and took advantage of Pienaar's lack of size to grab his second. Looked dangerous every time he had the ball.

Substitutes

Florent Malouda - 6 - Frenchman's addition midway through second half couldn't change course of the game.

Juliano Belletti - 6 - Late addition failed to make an impact.

Fabio Borini - n/a - Showed good pace and attacking intent late on, but didn't get enough time to really shine.

EVERTON

Tim Howard - 6.5 - Could do nothing about the goals he conceded, as a combination of fantastic finishing and poor defending left him helpless. Nevertheless made a number of other important saves and claims from crosses to keep his side in the game.

Leighton Baines - 6.5 - Played a vital hand in Yakubu's equalizer on the edge of half-time, and did well covering the left side of the pitch

Tony Hibbert - 6.5 - Hibbert coped admirably with the attacking threat of Ashley Cole, who was less incisive than usual. Will be disappointed to concede three times, but more than happy to come away with a point.

Jonny Heitinga - 7 - One rash challenge on the edge of the box (that earned him a booking) was perhaps the only major blemish in an otherwise impressive performance. The Dutchman showed great athleticism to make important challenges on a number of occasions.

Lucas Neill - 6.5 - No-nonsense approach played dividends for his side as they looked to hold onto a point as their hosts bombed forward. A decent performance from the Australian.

Jack Rodwell - 6.5 - An understated display from the much-touted midfielder, but he will have done his reputation little harm with a calm performance as he shielded his defense.

Marouane Fellaini
- 7 - The Belgian looks to be finding some form after a poor start to the season. Was a real disruptive influence for Chelsea, breaking down a number of attacks. Less effective offensively, however.

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov - 7 - The Russian's delivery was key to Everton's good display, as his free kicks caused trouble in the box and resulted in two goals.

Steven Pienaar - 6.5 - Worked hard for his side, but this was not the sort of game where Pienaar's individual ability was given time to shine. Defensive discipline was a credit to him, even if Drogba caught him cold for his second strike.

Jo - 6 - Looked lively in the first half as he looked to create something for his side. Unfortunately, his own afternoon was cut short through an injury just before half-time.

Louis Saha - 7 - Heavily involved in two of his side's three goals, although he arguably knew very little about either. Nevertheless was a lively attacking presence for his side in a resilient performance.

Substitutes

Yakubu
- 6.5 - Replaced the injured Jo, and made an impact almost immediately with a poacher's finish inside the box.

Kieran Agard - n/a - Injury time sub, put on to wind down the clock.
