Rodwell Unfazed By Chelsea & Man United Interest

Evertonian ignores transfer speculation.

Europa League: Jack Rodwell, Everton v SK Sigma (PA)

Rising Everton starlet Jack Rodwell, recently cited as the best youngster from Liverpool by Kenny Dalglish, is fully focused on his career at Goodison Park despite mounting interest from an elite of Europe's greatest clubs.

According to reports, the respective heads at super-clubs Manchester United, Chelsea, and Real Madrid are turning toward the many talents of Rodwell.

The Blues may require a holding midfielder in January to cover the absences of Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel to the African Cup of Nations, while Sir Alex Ferguson has allegedly mentioned how he regards Rodwell to be the long-term successor to Rio Ferdinand.

The versatile teen is quoted by The Times to have said: "I don’t read anything into the speculation. All I’m focusing on is the next game.

"I’ve got to be ready to start the next game and be in the manager’s thoughts," he added.

"Obviously anyone would be flattered by interest from other clubs, but I really am happy playing for Everton.

"I enjoy it there. It’s where I’ve always been and I love it.

"The gaffer [Moyes] has been brilliant for me.

"He has put his trust in me, playing me at such a young age, and he has always tried to look after me. I’ve got a lot to thank him for."
