Arsene Wenger: Chelsea Can Drop Premier League Points
Gunners boss believes title race is far from over.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger remains defiant about his side’s chances of winning the Premier League title despite the 3-0 humbling at the hands of Chelsea on Sunday.
The Gunners currently lie 11 points behind their London rivals, but Wenger insists Chelsea will drop points and his side will be ready to close the gap should they do so.
"It [the title race] is not over and I believe, on what I have seen of Chelsea, that the team can drop points," he told Arsenal TV Online.
"We have to accept we have lost a game and the only way we can respond is to show solidarity, to show collective energy and belief in what we do.
"Of course, first of all it is down to us to respond quickly and in a positive way in the championship games.
"We lost two games without scoring a goal which is not our habit at all. That is where we want to come out in a more positive way."
Wenger will have to make do without the services of striker Robin van Persie for the remainder of the season after he sustained an ankle ligament injury whilst on international duty.
The Frenchman spoke of the negative affect the international break has had on his team.
"The international interruption made a break in our season which was not welcome, and we paid with a very heavy price," he added.
