Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the 4-3-3 formation adopted this season has brought out the best in creative Dutchman Robin van Persie, who has been responsible for seven goals and six assists in ten rounds of Premier League action.

Van Persie, 26, the most recent recipient of the Player of the Month award, understands the movement of his team-mates in the fluid system.

"It is because he knows how we play," Wenger revealed on the club's official website.

"The team has played together for four or five years now and everybody knows the movement of each other.

"Van Persie has adapted to our style and is suited to it, like Drogba is suited to the Chelsea style."

Arsenal travel to the Molineux stadium this afternoon to take on Premier League new-boys Wolverhampton Wanderers.
