Report: Arsenal's Clichy Suffers Stress Fracture Of Lower Back
More injury woe for Gunners.
Arsenal left-back Gael Clichy has suffered a stress fracture of his lower back and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The Gunners are yet to set a date for the player's return, but such an injury could mean a long lay-off.
Arsenal must now take on AZ Alkmaar in the Champions League on Wednesday night at Ashburton Grove without their first choice left-back.
Striker Nicklas Bendtner is also out of the trip with a groin injury.
"We have some bad news because we had Bendtner who is quite seriously injured and on top of that we lost Gael Clichy with a back injury," Gunners boss Arsene Wenger told reporters at his press conference today.
"That was not expected. Bendtner was expected, Clichy was not expected and it looks like he could be out for a while.
"We fear a stress fracture of the back for Clichy and if that's the case he'll be out for a few weeks. We'll know more tonight.
"Nicklas we still don't know yet but he will be out for at least four weeks."
