Benitez Confirms Torres Will Go To France
Captain Gerrard definitely out, but Torres included in squad for crucial tie.
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has suggested that Fernando Torres will feature against Olympic Lyonnais on Wednesday night, in a game that the club can not countenance losing if they are to progress in Europe.
"We have to take Fernando to Lyon because we don't have too many options," said Benitez.
"We have to keep working with him and the rest of the players."
The Spanish coach defended his decision to risk Torres at Craven Cottage, and suggested that the player is "not comfortable" and requires patience and protection to overcome his injury woes.
"We are trying to manage because he was close to having an operation," he said.
"Still this morning, two days after the game, he is feeling something.
"When you talk about big names, people just analyze the names and not how the player is when he is on the pitch."
