Sir Alex Ferguson Admits FA Charge Of Improper Conduct
Charge relates to remarks about referee Alan Wiley.
The Football Association have confirmed that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted the improper conduct charge levelled against him.
The allegation relates to his accusation that referee Alan Wiley was not fit enough to officiate to Premier League standard during the defending champions' 2-2 clash with Sunderland on October 3.
Ferguson said in the aftermath of that draw: "The pace of the game demanded a referee who was fit. He was not fit."
According to the BBC, the Scotsman has requested a personal hearing with the FA.
The report also speculates that a touchline ban could be handed to the manager.
Ferguson is also allegedly in danger of courting further controversy due to his weekend remarks about Andre Marriner.
The 67-year-old questioned the experience of the match-day referee for United's clash with regional rivals Liverpool.
United lost the game 2-0.
