The striker has revealed his goals are a way of giving something back to the fans.
Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has once again affirmed that the affection and respect he is receiving from his new club's supporters is spurring him on in his current hot goalscoring streak.
City have recorded three victories in their opening three Premier League games, and Adebyor has scored in each. He has been at pains to stress how settled he is feeling at Eastlands, and how much more appreciated by supporters he is in comparison to his time at the Emirates.
"As soon as you play for a team where the
fans love you and are always behind you, you try to give them something
back," he told Sky Sports.
"That is what I have been showing since I joined this club. It is the same with new players like Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry with the support from the fans, that motivates and makes you a special player."
And the Togolese is not looking too far ahead, though he is convinced that if the Citizens keep performing at their current level, and enjoying their football, then success will follow.
"We have three wins, three clean sheets, nine points - for us
the most important thing is believing we can do something good," he added.
"We'll see where the season takes us. We have to keep enjoying ourselves."
