Torres: I Won’t Celebrate If I Score Against Atletico
Third time’s the charm for ‘El Nino’ as he finally gets a chance to square off against his childhood club.
After twice missing out on a reunion clash with his former club last season, Fernando Torres will go face to face with Atletico
The Spanish hot-shot had to sit out both of the Reds’ Champions League group match against Los Colchoneros last term due to injury but he will not be deprived of another opportunity as his boyhood club rolls into Anfield.
“It’s true that this is just a friendly, but I’m very excited,” he told EFE.
“I’m thinking of this as a repeat of the Champions League clash, but what I really want is to one day play against Atletico at the Vicente Calderon.
“I know that there won’t be much expectations in this game as there would’ve been in the Champions League but nevertheless, it will feel very strange for me out on the pitch.
“If I score, I will not celebrate. I just hope that it will not make Atletico dislike me,” he added.
