David Beckham has revealed that he would consider moving back to the Premier League if it helped his chances of appearing at the World Cup.

When Beckham left Manchester United, he vowed never to play for another English club, but times have changed.

Speaking at his first press conference since returning to California to join up with Los Angeles Galaxy, Beckham said, "I would definitely consider it.

"Never say never. When I left United, I said I would never want to play for another English club.

"My heart was in Manchester - and I couldn't see myself wearing another shirt in the Premiership and playing against United.

"Now I wouldn't rule it out."

However, Beckham did concede that a return to Milan was more likely, continuing, "Obviously Milan expressed that they want me to go back, so I don't see any reason why that would change.

"We'll have to wait and see. I hope to be going back there."
