Michael Owen: Joining Man Utd. Can Re-Ignite My Career
The England striker believes his move to Old Trafford could give his career the shot in the arm it needs following a troubled spell at Newcastle United.

After his surprise move to Manchester United, striker Michael Owen has told his new club's TV channel that he is eager to get his career back on track - and help the Red Devils win more trophies.
The player who made his name at United's arch-rivals Liverpool - and then went to Real Madrid, a club whose relations with the Old Trafford outfit have not always been harmonious - hopes his latest transfer will give him the opportunity to prove that he still has plenty to offer.
Owen told MUTV of his shock at signing for Manchester United, and admitted that he didn’t enjoy the greatest of times at Newcastle United, but is optimistic that things are suddenly looking up again.
“It feels great," he said. "I never even had it in my wildest dreams really but then I got the call from the manager to come and meet him.
“It was a shock but I’m obviously really happy and things have moved quickly since then.
"I probably had a poor spell up at Newcastle but prior to that, my career was very good and I’m sure a top club like this can reignite my career.
"Hopefully I can score a few goals and help the team to more success. It’s early days but when you think about United, you automatically think about winning trophies, the stadium, the massive fanbase.”
