While it has been confirmed that Manchester City have completed the signing of Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn with a figure that could be as high £18.5 million, the Eastands club now hope to secure the services of Carlos Tevez from Manchester United.
The Sun has reported that the 25-year-old Argentine has agreed to move from Old Trafford to their bitter rivals.
The £25.5m move will be completed on July 1, when Tevez’s two-year loan deal with United comes to an end.
The report says City will give him a five-year contract worth £100,000 a week and that Tevez has chosen City ahead of Chelsea.
Santa Cruz was signed on a four-year deal which sees his wages double to £80,000 a week.
