Report: Man United Ready To Stun Real Madrid With Iker Casillas Offer
The Red Devils are reportedly set to make another shock attempt to sign a world class superstar.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United are prepared to make a mega offer to Real Madrid for Iker Casillas in the hope of enticing the shot-stopper to leave the Santiago Bernabeu for Old Trafford.
Having been linked to every player from Fernando Torres to Victor Valdes to Robin van Persie over the past week, the Red Devils are believed to be on the prowl again as they look to cash in on the €94 million they will pocket if Cristiano Ronaldo completes his move to Los Blancos.
The Barcelona-based sports daily did not speculate how much United will begin their bidding at, but they believe that the English giants could make their approach some time next week.It would not be the first time a club from Manchester has chased ‘San Iker’. United’s crosstown rivals, Manchester City, were ready to part with a staggering €150 million during the January transfer window to pay out the goalkeeper’s buy-out clause, only to see the offer instantly shot down.
Sir Alex Ferguson is desperate to find a successor to Edwin van der Sar and he has allegedly pin-pointed Casillas as the perfect replacement, although the veteran manager is aware that it will be near impossible to persuade Casillas to leave the Spanish capital,
