Rooney: Capello Has Installed A Winning Mentality In England

The Manchester United striker feels the Italian tactician is getting the best out of the Three Lions.

Wayne Rooney has credited manager Fabio Capello for England's recent upturn in fortunes, claiming the Italian has turned them into winners.

The Manchester United striker believes that the former Real Madrid, Milan, Roma and Juventus head coach is finally helping the Three Lions reach their potential.

"We believe we can win every game and yeah, a lot of that does come from the manager," Rooney told British 'lad magazine' Nuts.

"He's just brilliant. Having achieved all he has in the game, he knows what he wants from us and gets that across really well.

"With the players we've got playing in the Premier League, we should be challenging for major trophies.

"I know the boss sees that and wants to change it around. Winning is the most important thing to him."

The 23-year-old forward insists that the England squad are confident ahead of Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine, and is hoping to turn that aplomb into long-term success.

"I still get shivers down my spine when I step out onto the pitch for England," Rooney added.

"To actually win something after so long would be totally amazing, and it's about time we did!

"The team spirit is great. Everyone's laughing and joking but we're determined to put on a good performance."
