Cristiano Ronaldo is the runaway favourite to win the FIFA World Player of the Year award, to add to the Ballon d'Or won last month, and with 42 goals scored in the 2007-08 season as well as the Premier League, Champions League and Club World Clup triumphs, few could logically argue against it.
In commemoration of his superhuman 2008, we have put together five of his top goals on this page - and we want YOU to help choose which is best!
After viewing each strike, scroll down and click onto our poll to select your favourite. The most popular of the five after 24 hours of voting will be put forward to compete against the top goals from the other four players for our grand final!
1. Manchester United vs. Portsmouth, 30 Jan 2008 - An absolutely exceptional free kick, hit with pure power and pin-point precision from the most unconventional of angles.
2. Manchester United vs. Bolton Wanderers, 19 Mar 2008 - Another free kick, full of power and accuracy and quite simply unstoppable.
3. Manchester United vs. Aston Villa, 30 Mar 2008 - A memorable back-heel that pretty much sums up the year he had in 2008.
4. Manchester United vs. Roma, 1 Apr 2008 - A magnificent piece of anticipation to charge into the box from deep to leap into the air and head home a wonderful goal.
5. Manchester United vs. Chelsea, 30 May 2008 - A bullet of a header in the Champions League final: the perfect leap, the perfect header and on the perfect stage.
