Rio Ferdinand Set For United Return
The Red Devils' captain elect is set to make shock return from injury for this weekend's blockbuster with the Blues.
Manchester United have been boosted by the news that their star centre-back, Rio Ferdinand, could be available to face Chelsea on Sunday.
The 30-year-old has been out of action since the December 13 clash with Tottenham Hotspur, as he has been laid up with a back problem.
It was thought he'd remain sidelined for a few weeks yet, but The Sun and The Daily Mail both report that Ferdinand has returned to training and is a real chance to make the starting line-up against the Pensioners.
That is great news for Sir Alex Ferguson's side, who currently sit four points shy of Chelsea in the Premier League standings, and seven behind leaders Liverpool.
United will also welcome back Patrice Evra, after the completion of a four-match ban for his involvement in a post-game brawl at Stamford Bridge last season.
