Redknapp: Arsenal, Liverpool Won't Win

The manager of Arsenal's bitter North London rivals just doesn't think the Gunners have what it takes to be champions.

Harry Redknapp doesn't think Arsenal will be celebrating Premier League glory this season. The Tottenham Hotspur manager, whose team held Manchester United to a goalless draw at White Hart Lane yesterday, believes that either United or Chelsea will be claiming this year's domestic crown.

"One of those two will win," said Redknapp today.

"That's not being too clever, though, is it because there's only Liverpool up there as well with them? Arsenal aren't going to win it this year. I can't see them coming back into it and winning the championship."

Nor did Redknapp believe that Rafa Benitez's Liverpool team will be taking the trophy to Merseyside in May, as he thinks that they rely too heavily on specific players for whom they don't possess adequate cover.

"And I think Liverpool rely so heavily on (Steven) Gerrard and (Fernando) Torres," the former Portsmouth boss added.

"If something happened to Gerrard, I don't know what they'd do, really. So I still see them being short of Chelsea and Manchester United."

As Spurs improve under his stewardship, Redknapp also confirmed that he has a list of transfer targets lined up once the window re-opens in January.

I know exactly who I want at this club," he said. "I've got a list of players, and it's not like four for one position. I know exactly what I want the team to be here."

Redknapp's immediate priority will be finding cover for the injuries that are biting into his squad, particularly at centre-back. Jonathan Woodgate joined Ledley King in the treatment room after limping out of yesterday's game in the first few minutes with a back injury. Midfielder Jermaine Jenas also tore a calf muscle during the game with United and faces a spell on the sidelines.
