Dos Santos Ready For Tottenham Hotspur Return
The young Spurs ace is close to a return to the first team after a spell out with injury.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Dos Santos is close to returning to first team action after having his Spurs career slowed down by injury.
The young Mexican starlet has been out of action since October with an ankle injury, but is nearing a return to the Spurs first team once he has regained match fitness.
The 19-year-old has been taking part in light training sessions and has been given the green light to begin training again with the first team starting next week.
Giovani was in high spirits and is now looking forward to returning to first team action and having an injury-free end to the season.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, Giovani said, "I have almost recovered from the ankle injury that I suffered in training. I have already started light training and am running on the training field.
“I will hopefully be able to join in with the team in one week and have a good end to the season.”
Dos Santos moved to White Hart Lane during the summer, having been bought by former Tottenham manager Juande Ramos. New boss Harry Redknapp has not had the chance to use the fiery Mexican attacking midfielder, but seems sure to utilise the services of the former Barcelona man during the busy Christmas period.
Dos Santos has only made six Premier League appearances for Spurs, and hasn't managed to find the net as yet, but the goals will come soon enough for the young Monterrey-born player as he becomes acclimatised to life in the Premier League.
