Chelsea's fallen star Didier Drogba has been injury plagued in recent months. Furthermore, as he tries to make his comeback, Drogs has allegedly met with Inter representatives with a view to following mentor Jose Mourinho to Serie A.
Now, he can't even hit back on the pitch, as he's serving a ban for throwing a coin into the Burnley supporters during the recent League Cup defeat.
Still, many feel that there's still more than enough room in the Blues' team for the Ivorian, despite the sparkling form of Nicolas Anelka.
Fatigue, both mental and physical, will start to tell on Luiz Felipe Scolari's squad as the season wears on and, at times, they look a little blunt in the final third.
Chief executive Peter Kenyon is of that opinion. Speaking to BBC Sport, he has iterated that the striker won't be heading for the exit door in the New Year.
"Didier's under contract for the next 18 months, so he will be going nowhere in January," Kenyon stated.
"Whether people leave Chelsea is as much down to us as anybody else.
"I don't know whether he did or he didn't [meet Inter representatives]. All I know is he's a big player for us and we want him back. He's one of those players who can make a difference."
Kenyon was talking soon after affirming that Scolari will have little or no money to spend in January.
