Following today's drubbing by Bolton Wanderers, Sunderland boss Roy Keane has revealed he is considering his future on Wearside.

Roy Keane has admitted that he is questioning whether he can still the do the manager's job at Sunderland. His team today surrendered the lead and were thrashed 4-1 by a Bolton Wanderers team who are quietly and quickly climbing the Premier League table.

The defeat was the Black Cats' third on the trot at home, and left Keane, whom rumours have consistently linked with an exit from the Stadium of Light at the end of the season, asking himself whether he is still the right man for the job.

"I ask myself every single day if I am the right man for Sunderland," he said post-match today.

"I asked myself this morning and I said that I was. Tomorrow morning if the answer's no we will have to look at it. I have to be honest in my assessment. It's not about what's best for Roy Keane. It's Sunderland football club.

"I might wake up on Monday morning and think I'm the right man. On Tuesday it might be different."

But Keane was honest enough to admit that the responsibility for his team's poor results ultimately rests with him as manager.

"I'm the manager of this football club and ultimately I'm responsible and I've never shied away from that," the Irishman added.

"That's part of being a manager and that's why I take full responsibility for today and the run we're on and everything else."

Sunderland slumped to 18th in the league table today with 15 points, a place behind bitter rivals Newcastle United on goal difference.
