United Target 'New Solskjaer'?

Manchester United could be set to sign the 'new Ole Gunnar Solskjaer' in the shape of Valerenga striker Moa Abdellaoue...

Abdellaoue has risen to prominence over the course of the past two seasons, thanks to his exploits for the Norwegian giants.

The 23-year-old was handed an international debut earlier this term, when he took part and excelled in Norway's draw with the Republic of Ireland.

His nine goals in 23 games in the Tippeligaen this season have already alerted Dutch club Groningen, who were believed to be readying a bid of around €4 million for his services.

'Moa' fired a brace against league winners Stabaek nine days ago to help Valerenga claim the Norwegian Cup, and it has been reported that a number of representatives from English clubs were in attendance to witness his sterling performance.

Now that the domestic season has finished in Norway for the winter, there is speculation of a bidding war in January for Abdellaoue's signature.

Manchester United are among the interested parties, and have offered Moa the chance to train alongside the club's first team over the winter.

The Norwegian press states that the arrangement was set in place by the agent of Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jim Solbakken.

The player's current club are reluctant to offer details of any mooted move to the press, with director Pal Breen resfusing to confirm whether or not Abdellaoue is heading for Old Trafford.

He told Verdens Gang: "We can't comment on anything before we have anything formalised.

With Norway set to face Ukraine on Wednesday, the forward is currently preparing for an international fixture, which, according to his advisor Erik Moe, is his only priority at this moment in time.

He told the press: "This is up to Valerenga to comment.

"Moa has only one focus now, and that is the international against Ukraine on Wednesday. It is important."
