European football's rock star manager has once again distanced himself with a move away from his post with the Croatian national team.

Recent reports have tipped him to succeed struggling Juande Ramos, whose expensively assembled Lilywhites remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table after Sunday's 2-1 defeat at rookies Stoke.

However, whilst he maintains that he's in his dream Croatia job for the long haul, he admits that he's monitoring Spurs' progress, or lack thereof, keenly.

Bilic told BBC Sport: "I've been linked with many clubs in England and all I can say is that it is flattering. However, I have my job with Croatia and that's all I'm concentrating on.

"It's hard to believe Tottenham's situation, but a lot of good teams have been in the same position.

"I'm sure it is going to get better - it's a massive club and they are going to come back."

If they don't, perhaps the highly-rated 40-year-old will have no choice but to step in and rescue the club himself.
