City's Mills Completes Rovers Switch

Manchester City defender Matthew Mills has joined newly-promoted Championship side Doncaster Rovers on a three-year contract.

22-year-old Matthew Mills has completed a £300,000 permanent transfer from Manchester City to Doncaster Rovers after having spent most of last season’s promotion campaign on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Mills told Doncaster’s official website: "I always wanted to come here and it was just a case of City allowing me to."

In fact the central defender spent two spells on loan to Rovers before returning to City for pre-season training.

He had been signed at Eastlands by former manager Stuart Pearce from Southampton for more than £500,000, but made just one start and one substitute appearance for City before being farmed out in a series of temporary moves.
