Grant To Jump Before He Is Pushed

Grant, whose future at the club has been subject to huge speculation, has apparently refused to discuss his future at the club leading to suggestions that he may simply walk away at the end of the season.

Despite enjoying a successful season on the pitch since taking over from Jose Mourinho, Grant’s personality has failed to win over the Stamford Bridge fans and hierarchy and it is widely expected he will be replaced in the summer. This, despite the fact that his side could still potentially win a Premier League and Champions League Double this season.

However according to reports in the Mail on Sunday, Grant has grown frustrated at such speculation and now, feeling that he has done all that was asked of him when he took over the club, he may simply quit whilst he is ahead.

When asked about his future, Grant reportedly said: “Sometimes the club doesn’t want you, sometimes the manager is not happy with the club.”

However the Chelsea manager also went on to say: “You can judge my job on what I achieve. But I will not answer questions today about my personal future.”

The report also features comments from a close friend of Grant, Eyal Lachman, who believes: “I won’t be surprised at all if Avram leaves Chelsea at the end of the season.”

These comments have prompted speculation that Grant may not now wait around to see what future lies in store for him at the club and may simply chose to walk away instead. They are also likely to fuel the debate over who will be the next manager at Stamford Bridge.
