China 1-0 Lebanon: Du Wei Heads China Close To Asian Cup
The Chinese are almost there.

China are on the
verge of qualification for the 2011 Asian Cup after a 1-0 win over Lebanon in
Hangzhou.
The three points maintain China’s second spot but puts the East Asians five points clear of Vietnam with just two games remaining.
The only goal of the game came courtesy of captain Du Wei after 18 minutes as the one-time Celtic defender headed home Deng Zhuoxiang cross.
Lebanon are still pointless after four games and now have no chance of reaching the Qatar tournament. Despite that the West Asians made it hard for the hosts.
“We were able to play good football when we faced Germany, but we didn’t play at our normal level when we took on weaker sides such as Lebanon. I think the huge pressure to perform affected our play,” coach Gao Hongbo said after the match according to the-afc.com.
“We hoped to score more goals through dead balls, but we failed to achieve the goal. But somehow, I think the result is acceptable. After all, we earned three points.
“Vietnam is not out of contention yet, we must be prepared for the upcoming matches,” added Gao.
“We also need to set high goals for ourselves and be self-motivated."
