Have Your Say: Who Has Been The Most Effective Brazilian Player In Europe Over The Past Year?

A chance to make your voice heard.

By Peter Staunton

Samba football has been a fixture in Europe's top leagues for decades; Brazilians like Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Romario plied their trade at the highest levels on the continent, leaving a rich legacy in their wake.

The five-time World Cup winning country continues to supply a rich conveyor belt of talent to the top leagues around Europe and now Goal.com, in association with Castrol Rankings, wants your opinion. Which Brazilian has had the biggest effect in Europe's top leagues over the past 12 months? Is it Luis Fabiano? Kaka? Dani Alves?

The Castrol Rankings analyse and chart the performance of every player from Europe's top five leagues; the Bundesliga, La Liga, Ligue 1, Premier League and Serie A. So, have your say on whom you think will prove to be Brazil's most effective export to the elite European game in the past year.

Here are just some of the possible candidates, but be sure to think of your own, too...
  • Julio Cesar: The consistent Inter stopper is always there or thereabouts in these rankings.
  • Dani Alves: A treble-winner with Barcelona and arguably the best attacking right-back in the world.
  • Maicon: Another competitor for that right-back slot.
  • Diego: Remember, this is over the past year, and Diego had a wonderful time with Werder Bremen.
  • Kaka: Again, recent troubles aside, Kaka looked the part in 2009.
Leave your comments below and check back on Friday for the final results.
