The Boca Juniors playmaker believes Marcelo Gallardo could make the difference in Sunday's superclasico.
"For me Gallardo is the best player they have. Falcao is good, but he is a striker, Fabbiani plays very well, but I think if we manage to stop Gallardo's game we will complicate them much more, and those who play at the front won't be able to receive good balls," said Riquelme.
When asked whether Boca or River come into the derby in better form, Riquelme stated that Los Millonarios have a slight advantage.
"They arrive a little better than us, but if we do things well we can win it. We will play at home and with our people," he affirmed.
Riquelme is recovering from a foot injury that he picked up in the Copa Libertadores game with Guarani last week. But he insists that he will be fit to face River.
"This ankle is complicating me because it really swells up, but I will make sure that I won't miss the match. It is difficult for me to walk, and to kick [the ball] as well."
Riquelme received a number of hard tackles against Guarani, and this was much of the reason why he has trained apart from the Boca squad in the last few days.
