The Rumour mill has been working
over-drive over the last few days with reports claiming that the Sweden international
was on his way out of the San Siro.
Speculation has been rife but it seems as if the prolific hit-man will remain at the Beneamata.
According to Gazzetta, Moratti has already sat down with Ibra to talk about extending his deal until 2013 and the chief has reportedly offered Ibra a staggering €12m (£9.5m) per season remuneration package which would mean the player taking home a whopping €231,000 (£181,000) a week, this would dwarf Kaka’s €182,000 (£143,000) a week deal.
Ibrahimovic would thus become Serie A’s highest paid player and it is highly unlikely that other clubs would be willing to take such a massive gamble on the player.
Moratti is afraid his superstar may leave and thus he is doing all he can to keep him from going.
Barcelona are interested in Ibrahimovic and there were reports of an Ibra – Eto’o swap deal but this now seems unlikely.
