Blind to wear No.17 for Manchester United

The versatile Netherlands international inherits the shirt number last worn by Nani, who has left Old Trafford for a season-long loan deal with Sporting.
New Manchester United signing Daley Blind will wear the No.17 shirt at Old Trafford.

The former Ajax defender, signed for 17.5 million euros on transfer deadline day, inherits the jersey from Portuguese winger Nani, who has joined Sporting Lisbon on loan for the 2014-15 campaign.

Blind could make his United debut against QPR on Sept. 14 after joining up with the Netherlands squad for its upcoming fixtures against Italy and the Czech Republic.

The versatile 24-year-old, who can play at left back or in the midfield, is the son of Ajax legend Danny Blind and was named his country's Footballer of the Year last season as the Amsterdam club claimed a 33rd championship.
