Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has agreed to join Roma from Newcastle on a season-long loan, Goal UK reports.
The center back fell down the pecking order under Alan Pardew last season and is yet to make an appearance for the club in the 2014-15 season.
Speaking to reporters ahead of a medical on deadline day, Yanga-Mbiwa expressed his excitement at joining the Serie A side, saying: “I am very happy to be at Roma and couldn’t wait to get here. I have already spoken to Rudi Garcia on the phone over the last few days."

The Magpies have already bolstered their defense with the signing of Daryl Janmaat this summer and Pardew has favored Mike Williamson and Fabricio Coloccini this season, with Yanga-Mbiwa deemed surplus to requirements.
The 25-year-old will remain in Italy for the entirety of the Serie A campaign and it is understood that Roma will pay a portion of his wages while he is at Stadio Olimpico.
Should Yanga-Mbiwa complete his move before the transfer deadline, he could make his debut in Roma's clash with Empoli after the international break.
