The representatives of the former Ballon d’or winner have been in touch with the Chennai franchise and negotiations are set to begin.
Ronaldinho is set to enter negotiations with Indian Super League side Team Chennai, according to one of the club's owners.
The 34-year-old has been without a club since leaving Atletico Mineiro in July. Palmeiras was close to roping in the playmaker as a part of its centennial celebrations but the deal fell through eventually.
He is now in discussions with the Indian side, according to Prashant Agarwal, one of the co-owners of the Chennai franchise.
"Yes, we have been in touch with Ronaldinho and his representatives for the last one week or so," Agarwal told Goal. "However, I would like to clarify that the numbers such as $3 million ... for two years doing the rounds in the market are absolutely false."
