The 20-year-old academy product will spend the 2014 season with the Capital side in its inaugural season in the North American Soccer League.Zakaria Messoudi is heading to the Ottawa Fury in the NASL, the Montreal Impact announced on Friday.
With the 20-year-old midfielder having yet to feature with the Impact in MLS ever since signing with the club last year, head coach Frank Klopas explained that a move to Ottawa will offer the youngster a chance at regular playing time.
"It's a good opportunity to gain valuable experience," Klopas said in a club press release. "He'll get more playing time in real game situations, which is very important for his development as a young player."
Over the last two seasons, the Impact academy graduate recorded one goal and four assists in 14 MLS reserve games. He also represented Canada at the 2013 Under-20 CONCACAF Championship in Mexico.
