Rosell: Barcelona has nothing to hide over Neymar

The Blaugrana president has reiterated that the club acted appropriately in signing the Brazil star from Santos last summer
Sandro Rosell says Barcelona has "nothing to hide" after insisting it paid 57.1 million euros for Neymar and not the 95 million quoted by Spanish newspaper El Mundo.

The reigning Liga champions are being investigated over the alleged misappropriation of funds during the signing of the Brazil international, which saw just 17.1 million euros of the reported 57.1 million transfer fee go to the Brazilian's former club Santos.

However, the Barcelona president has reiterated his insistence that the Blaugrana acted appropriately throughout the transfer.

Rosell said: "I will say it again. Neymar cost 57.1 million euros and there's not more to it. That's the umpteenth time I've said it.

"I would also like to make a request to the judge, with all my respect, to accept the dispute and to call me to declare.

"This means I will not have to skip the confidentiality clause we have in this transfer and as is always the case at Barça, it's a clause that was requested by another party, not by us.

"There's nothing to hide."
