Guardiola tells Manchester City Neuer is not for sale

The Premier League outfit has been linked with a move for the Germany international, but the Bavarians' trainer insists that the 27-year-old is going nowhere.

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has warned Manchester City ahead of their Champions League Group D encounter on Tuesday that the English club would be wasting its time by lodging a bid for goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

The Premier League outfit has been linked with a big-money move for the Germany international amid reports that it is prepared to offload England No.1 Joe Hart, with Romanian shot-stopper Costel Pantilimon now Manuel Pellegrini's first-choice in the Premier League.

Neuer, meanwhile, has played an integral role in the Bavarian giant's success and Guardiola has insisted the 27-year-old will not be going anywhere.

"No chance," the Spaniard said when asked about the prospect of Neuer signing for City.

Neuer joined Bayern from Schalke in the summer of 2011 and has since developed into a key player with the German giant.

The Germany international's current contract with Bayern runs until June 2016.
