The former Tottenham and Manchester United striker wants to quit Craven Cottage during the next transfer window, his representative reveals.Dimitar Berbatov wants to leave Premier League struggler Fulham in January, according to his agent, Emil Dantchev.
The Cottagers currently sit 18th in the standings, three points from safety, and recently replaced Martin Jol at the helm with Rene Meulensteen, who had initially arrived as head coach.
Berbatov is out of contract in the summer, but his representative revealed that he is keen to move on as quickly as possible.
"I don't usually speculate as nobody knows what will happen in January but what I can tell you is [Berbatov] is not happy at Fulham," Dantchev is quoted as saying by The Guardian. "He would like, if possible, to find another option."
Berbatov himself has found life at Craven Cottage tough going this season, having netted just once in the Premier League.
Despite the Bulgarian's struggles, Dantchev is certain that his client can attract interest from top Premier League clubs.
"I cannot comment [on whether there has been any approach] but the priority is to find a solution to stay in England," he stated.
Fulham hosts Tottenham in the Premier League on Wednesday night in Meulensteen's first match in charge as manager.
