Ramires cools Real Madrid talk

The Brazilian still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge and insists he wants to honour it, despite being flattered by the Spanish giants' interest

Ramires has dismissed reports he could join Real Madrid by saying he is committed to his long term contract with Chelsea.

The Brazilian signed a five-year deal with the Blues in March 2012, committing him to the west London club until 2017, though speculation has mounted in recent weeks that he could be bound for Santiago Bernabeu.

But while he admits he is flattered to be the subject of interest from Carlo Ancelotti’s side, Ramires insists he has not been approached and wants to remain at Stamford Bridge.

"Nothing has come to me, I have just heard about this through the press,” he told Globo Esporte. “My agent hasn't told me anything either. Maybe it is just speculation.

"I am focused on my work, one can't talk about something that he knows nothing about.

"It's good for the ego (to be linked with Real), it's a sign that people somewhere like your work.

"I am very happy to know that, but neither Chelsea nor my agent have told me anything. It would be a lack of respect to say anything if the club didn't talk with me.

"I am under contract until 2017 and I don't want to leave while there isn't anything happening and I am happy in the team.

"I will only leave if the club want me to. I feel have adapted well."
