The 26-year-old has admitted he still harbors an affection for his former side and refused to rule out the prospect of returning to the Premier League outfit in the future

Barcelona midfielder Alex Song has fuelled speculation over his future after failing to rule out a move to former club Arsenal.

The Cameroon international has struggled to earn a regular starting berth with the Catalans since leaving the Premier League outfit for a fee in the region of 17 million euros last summer.

And Song, who enjoyed a six-year spell with the Gunners, admits a return to the Emirates Stadium could be on the horizon.

He told RMC: "I do not know what will happen in the future, but it is true that I spent some fantastic seasons there [at Arsenal].

"We will see what happens, but for now I'm a Barcelona player."

The 26-year-old reportedly had an 80 million-euro release clause written into his initial deal at Camp Nou, which expires in 2017.

Song started 17 times under Tito Vilanova in the league last season as the Blaugrana successfully wrestled the Liga title back from Real Madrid.
