Moyes happy with transfer plans despite Bayern's Thiago pursuit

Pep Guardiola appears to have scuppered the new Manchester United manager's plan to sign the talented 22-year-old, but the Scot insists he is happy with his transfer efforts.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has shrugged off concerns over his transfer policy in the wake of reports suggesting Barcelona starlet Thiago is headed to Bayern Munich.

The Red Devils embarked on their tour of Asia earlier this week but were hit by the news that Pep Guardiola has identified long-term target Thiago as the only signing he desires at Bayern. The Spaniard now appears set to spurn United's advances in favor of linking up with his former boss.

But Moyes insists he is happy with his plans for the summer market and played down the club's interest in the 22-year-old Thiago.

"There are targets we're chasing at this moment in time," Moyes said. "At this moment in time, we're happy with how things are going.

When asked if Thiago remained a target, Moyes added: "I never said he was."
