And the former Valencia man says he is not willing to comment on rumors about his future but hinted that he would take stock of his situation next month.
"I have a contract and I have always said that I'm very happy in Barcelona," he told reporters. "Throughout my career I have always been respectful of my current club. Right now I'm just thinking about doing a good job in Brazil [at the Confederations Cup] and then we will see.
"We will have to analyze many things during the summer, but as of right now I'm not thinking of anything else other than playing football for Spain."
Villa joined Barcelona in 2010 and has since gone on to make over 100 appearances for the Catalans.
