The Red Bulls continued to make moves this week, signing the former PSG forward.
Luyindula comes from Paris Saint-Germain, where he played since 2007. During his time at PSG, Luyindula played in 179 games in all competitions, scoring 37 goals. Before moving to PSG, Luyindula was with Marseille, Auxerre and Levante.
“Peguy has a good pedigree as a forward who has played for many years in Europe and has now returned to full fitness,” said Red Bulls Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh in a team statement. “He is technically very good and his movements on the pitch are impressive. We are happy to add him to our roster.”
Luyindula was able to compete in the UEFA Champions League with Lyon from 2001-04, scoring 46 goals in 126 appearances in all competitions while helping his team win two league championships. The forward has also earned six caps for the French national team, scoring one goal in a friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
