Heurelho Gomes leaves Tottenham for Hoffenheim on loan

The Brazilian has only made three Europa League appearances for Spurs this year, and will now head to Germany on loan for the rest of the season in search of first team minutes.
Tottenham has confirmed that goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes will spend the rest of the season on loan at German club Hoffenheim.

The Brazilian international has made 136 appearances for the club since joining from PSV Eindhoven for 8.5 million pounds in 2008, but has fallen behing Hugo Lloris and Brad Friedel in the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

He will now move to the Bundesliga in search of first team football, where he will join Americans Fabian Johnson and Danny Williams at the club that boasts the most porous defense in the German top flight and currently sits second to last in the league.

The 11-time-capped Brazil international will compete with former German international Tim Wiese for the starting job.
