thumbnail Hello,

The Cruz Azul attacker will be on the move after finishing up his duties with Mexico next week.

In a surprise deadline beating deal, Javier Aquino has moved to Villarreal of Spain’s Segunda Division.

The Cruz Azul attacker, who is currently with the Mexican national team for the friendly against Denmark, will join the Spanish side for three-and-a-half seasons.

Villarreal announced the deal on its website, saying that the Olympic gold medal winner will stay with El Tri through the Feb. 6 qualifier with Jamaica.

The 22-year old from Oaxaca has 10 full national team caps for Mexico.
