Premier League ratifies Michael Owen's move to Stoke City

The forward's move to Stoke City is final after being confirmed by the Premier League.

The Premier League has confirmed to Stoke City the registration of Michael Owen.

The 32-year-old was signed by Tony Pulis on Tuesday after being released by Manchester United in the summer. Owen can now be part of Stoke's 25-man Premier League squad.

Owen, who signed a one-year deal with Stoke, is in line to make his debut for Pulis' side after the international break against Manchester City on Sept. 15.

"It's official! Deal done. I'm a Stoke player. Can't wait to get going," Owen posted on Twitter on Wednesday.

Owen is Stoke's seventh signing this summer after the arrivals of Jamie Ness, Geoff Cameron, Michael Kightly, Maurice Edu, Charlie Adam and Steven N'Zonzi.

“I’m delighted to have signed for Stoke City,” Owen told the club's official website. “We have been in talks for a while and it was a club I was always keen to join. I’m particularly excited at the prospect of working under Tony Pulis. He has assembled a great squad that I look forward to joining.

“I’m now looking forward to contributing as much as possible to the Club and can’t wait to play in front of a great set of supporters.”
